L'il help please with figuring out which T30 I want. Some weigh in anywhere between 4.9 to 5.6 lbs and with/without Bluetooth or WiFi. Are there particular favorites that
a) come equipped with 802.11b and/or Bluetooth
b) have the lightest fighting weight
c) best/preferred chipsets or other specs?
I read the messages about the flaws on reading memory and wouldn't mind a refurb. So far, I've seen the 2366 and 2367 ranges and subgroups including
82U
41U
BU4
66U
Is there a code for deciphering differences and what clues the numbers/letters offer?
Thanks
David

Under the Quick Path, enter the model number, say "236682U" and it will pop up the specs, albeit abbreviated.
Or, use Google and enter the model number. One of the top hits on the list will probably contain the specs.
I have a 2366-87U T30 that I've upgraded to 1GB of RAM. I also never carry around my DVD drive because it weighs more and I very rarely use it, so in goes the Travel Bezel. However, my new UltraBay spare battery arrived today, yipee!
You'll be happy with the T30. I was debating between upgrading to a T42 or X40, but the screen on the X is too small for my eyes when I'm tired, and the T4x construction isn't near as durable as the X or a T30. So, I saved myself $2,000 and just bought another battery instead!
One more word of advice: You can always add the Mini-PCI wireless card to whatever you buy, as all T30s come with the internal antenna prewired. Same on memory, you can always add more for cheap from crucial.com.
Good luck!

Thanks, Matt.
It looks like it will be a 2366 machine similar to yours. I'm a little apprehensive about doing the surgery to install a wireless card, but I'd be more concerned if I were working on several thousands of dollars worth of computer.
Besides I've studied up here at T-30 University and am glad to have the tutorials and experience of others . . .
