Hi, I currently own a T60 and a Dell Vostro. As you know, the T60 has the battery charge control that you can set a specific amount (%) of charge to enhance the battery life. However I can't find a similar software for the Dell. Does anyone know of such software? If there's actually none, I'm willing to try to write one. But I'm very new at this so suggestion or source example would be awesomely appreciated.

Give NHC a try.

The feature requires motherboard support, so it's possible that the hardware support isn't there.

I have an Inspiron 1520 (Vostro 1500) and the motherboards don't support much.

There is a special version of NHC but that really only allows for monitoring. Can't even change CPU speed.

Well I guess this is one of the reason a Dell is cheaper than a Lenovo
