Creating recovery discs to DVD

#1 Post by deejay22 » Sat Feb 16, 2008 6:54 pm

I would like to create a set of recovery discs using DVDs rather than cd which are much smaller. I inserted a DVD for the first disc and it required a further disc 2. I then inserted a cd for the first disc and a dvd for disc 2 but still it required a disc 3.

When creating discs to DVD how many should be required in total and is there a special way to do it with DVDs?

Thanks!

Using R61i with Vista

It depends on the size of hidden partition, usually it takes 1 CD and 2 DVD's under Windows Vista.

Following page is worth looking at:

How to create recovery media using ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thanks. Problem is that Lenovo advises to use 1 cd and 1 dvd or 8 cd's to back up. No order is specified when using the dvd though it appears the cd is required first. In my case 1 dvd was not enough and I wonder how many I will need in total.

The first disc is just a Rescue and Recovery boot disc. It only needs a cd. Use DVD's for the rest if you want.
