Client Security Solution 8.10 - no Secure Drive?

#1 Post by minh07 » Sat Feb 16, 2008 11:03 pm

I know most of the members on here are not a fan of CSS but since I update CSS to v. 8.10, I cannot find any option of secure drive ...

Anyone can shed some light on this matter?

Odds are this has been dropped totally by now. I was Test Lead for this product until the middle of last year when I left the company.

I would check out TrueCrypt, which is an excellant option for this type of functionality. I use it personally and would highly recommend it versus anything Lenovo will provide.
Current System: T400 (2764-CTO) Core2Duo P8700 @ 2.53Ghz, 8GB RAM, Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD, 14.1in 1440x900 LCD, 256MB ATI HD3400 Switchable Graphics, DVD Burner, 11b/g/n Wireless LAN, Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion battery

Planned upgrade: Bluetooth (yes, I do upgrades on my laptops!)

Thanks,

I know TrueCrypt and I use it too. It's just odd to see them dropping a function without saying anything on the changes list.

When I migrated to CSS8 from CSS7, the changelog mentioned that support was being dropped for PrivateDisk. Actually, I think support for it was dropped sometime during CSS7. Anyway, as you've noted, TrueCrypt is highly recommended as a replacement.
