Start up Log on question?

#1 Post by salin » Sun Feb 17, 2008 12:22 pm

After Lenovo repalced my motherboard, I have to use
ctrl-alt-delete to log on and then use my fingerprint scanner to complete the process.
Prior to replacing the motherboard only the fingerprint scanner was needed to log on.
Any thoughts on eliminating the extra steps?

Are you running Vista or XP?

For Vista:
Open up the run dialog, and type in "secpol.msc". Navigate to local policies --> security options. Edit the "Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL + ALT + DEL" field to the value you want. Or, go to Help and Support from the start menu and search "ctrl alt del logon". Click the entry for "enable or disable secure logon (CTRL + ALT + DELETE)" and follow the instructions.

For XP:

Current: T430
Past: T42 | T60 | T61 | X61T | T410
