Rescue & Recovery

#1 Post by kingweb » Mon Feb 18, 2008 4:39 am

Hi Guys,

I never really used R&R, but I think I may start using it now.

In the next few days, I want to completely format and reinstall windows (too much junk and things not working right).

Is it possible for me to backup my files onto the hidden partition, and then format, and then move the files back?

Also, after I install windows and install all my applications, will R&R back the entire thing up for me. What I want to accomplish here is the next time I need to format and reinstall windows, I can just restore the backup and save a lot of time by not having to install a ton of apps, etc.

As commented in another thread, hidden partition doesn't store any backups, it was never designed to.

What you can do is to create a backup on an external media like a USB drive or second HDD.

You would 1st need to install Rescue and Recovery and then create a backup on your HDD to make it happen.
