T61p OSD does not work

#1 Post by MCheiron » Mon Feb 18, 2008 6:08 pm

Hi everyone,

I reinstalled Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate and discovered that the little windows when pressing the Fn key and F2, F3, F4, F5, F7, F9 are not appearing any more. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the On-screen display software and system integration drivers and all kinds of other Lenovo software to resolve the problem.

Even when turning all wireless connection off/on (little switch in the front) nothing appears, and I cannot choose BT or WUSB.

What am I doing wrong and what software is required? Maybe I forgot something.

thanks for all answers,

MCheiron

You need to install Access Connections first.
T42p - Pentium M 1.8Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 60 GB 7200 RPM, ATI Mobility FireGL T2 128MB
T61p - Core 2 Duo 7300, 3 GB RAM, 320 GB 7200 RPM, nVidia Quadro FX 570M 256MB

Last I checked OSD does not work with 64-bit Vista. I think it states it right on the download page.

That is only for the Reserve edition. For the T61p Vista 64 bit is supported, at least on this page here:

Thanks for your replies, any other suggestions?

I just noticed that it didn't work on one model.

I just installed it without access connections and just the FN+F5 works. Volume info does not pop up on screen...

Install the following softwares, you should have your OSD back:

1. Lenovo System Interface driver.
2. ACPI Power Management.
3. Display driver. (from lenovo)
4. Hotekey utility.
5. Presentation director.

Thanks for all answers:

I reinstalled again all kinds of Lenovo and Thinkpad programs, including the once that ryanengineer suggested, and it worked!

Thanks a lot for the help,
