4965AGN (DELL BRANDED) WORKING ON X61 NOW!!

#1 Post by atrix415 » Tue Feb 19, 2008 10:35 am

I successfully got my 4965AGN (Dell Branded) working on my x61 with the Blocking Pin20 trick. Only thing I noticed so far is that the WIFI light remains off. WOO WOO.....

Tips:
I am using the second slot since X61 has two. The First one is still in debate???
I didnt tape off the pin on the bottom side of the card. But instead tape off the pin on the mainboard of the X61. (Either fine, the same)

hmm.. sounds interesting.. does that work for lenovo cards too or what's the pin 20 trick? That somehow fools the system but how?

I wanna get a N card too (as i just got a WRT350N) and i want those speeds to copy data back and forth to the huge USB HDD attached to it :D

Sry for the late reply. As of now I am using it. The card is working as expected and don't seem to see any errors of any kind. But the lights for wifi does remain off and maybe because of the blocked pin? Read how-to by going to T6X part of forum posted by Zenders.
