X61 Tablet has plastic top cover?????

Is this true? I compared my X61T with the old X31, I found out X31 is stronger.

'knocking' on the top of my tablet lid, it does resonant with a sort of 'hollow feel'
Definitely seems it could be sturdier
X61 Tablet 7767....loving every moment of it
