WinXP SP3 RC2 to be released today for public

Hello all,

Those who like testing things out, the RC2 of SP3 for WinXP will be released to the public later today by Microsoft.

- Also MS posted the Release Notes for this build earlier today, so may want to take a look at what's changed.

Any one gone and installed this yet? Wanting to know how much of an improvement there is in performance. I will most likely wait for the final release, but want to know what I have to look forward to. Release notes can only tell you so much.

The benefits may not be immediately apparent, I reckon SP3 is a major cumulative update that adds a little more "hardening" to WinXP.

Not as far reaching as SP2 perhaps, but probably worth the effort.

I'm happy to wait for the RTM. :)

I'll let Microsoft do its own beta testing.
