I have a TP 240X running XP Pro which currently has a 5400 rpm Travelstar 30gb drive installed. The specs on the drive indicate it supports up to UDMA 5 but I noticed under Device Manager, only UDMA 2 is listed.
Is this the highest transfer rate the laptop's IDE controller supports or is it possible to go beyond this and use the drive's full performance capability?
Does the TP 240X support tranfer rates above UDMA 2?
