It looks like the T-60 is a lemon !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi
When my wife asked me what laptop her company should buy her to use from home l told her "buy a Thinkpad". Now after looking at the first page of threads all that l see is complaining, and more complaining.
Boy l'm not going to live this one down for sure. Why are there so many problems with the newest Thinkpad T-60?
Thanks
Alan

Search the forum for topics on x650s & T-40s and you could form the same conclusion. As MeCasa said, these are support forums, so people with problems post. I have a T60 and am pleased, but I didn't want to start a "I am happy with my T60" thread. If you want a "Consumer Reports" type evaluation, this isn't the place to look.
to put it mildly, you're judging something using the wrong statistics.
rarely will we see praise threads for thinkpads in any of our model forums. when people are happy they are too busy using their thinkpad(s) to bother posting a new thread which has little use in the end. most new threads are from people who seek advice, need help, or are unhappy with their equipment in some way or another.
every T60, T60p, T61, and T61p i have helped deploy to friends, family, clients, or colleagues have been received without issue . if i wrote a thread about every happy thinkpad owner i know it would take up half a page worth of posts in the T6x forum alone. the T60/p and especially T61/p are some of the most rock-solid thinkpads created to date.

Tech support forums are always full of people with problems, that is the nature of these forums. Keep in mind there are thousands of T6x computers out ther running along happily with no issues at all. Those people do not go to support forums looking for help.
My T60's and my R61 just work. I had one small issue with the ethernet on one of the T60's but they took care of it.
