TP 240X Water Channel

#1 Post by hjanzen » Fri Feb 22, 2008 2:40 pm

On the systemboard of the 240X sits what is described as the Water Channel.
See page 57 of the HMM.
My question is: what is the function of this item?
Can it be removed just by pulling it upwards?
It feels rather sticky, but as far as I can see there is no bolt that would prevent it from being lifted up.
Hans.

Yes you can just yank the black passage thingy with clear cover up. It won't cause any damage to the board but if you ever accidentally splash your 240x with any liquid afterwards, your motherboard is going get it.

The function to it is it directs any liquid from the keyboard to the bottom of the casing. You can see there is a outlet on the bottom to let the water out.

Thanks TeeTee, completely clear now after your explanation!
Regards, Hans.

P.S. I arose early in the morning at 5 A.M yesterday to bid on one of your 240X but Ebay prevented me from bidding since "the item was meant to be shipped to US only"
Too bad..
