Hi everybody,
I have a X61 tablet pc. I actually have Vista but I ordered XP tablet edition cds to install it (not sure if I will Dual boot or replace the existing Vista by XP). The problem: there's no cd drive in those machines...
So I read a lot of things about 1) clean install and about 2) using a usb key to install xp. But almost every turorial starts by a XP Pro CD instead of recovery cds, or it shows how to create recovery cd from the installed XP, etc.... I also have a real XP Pro CD (for my desktop pc). Do I need it? What do I need to clean install XP on my tablet with all necessary drivers?
And I am not sure about making the USB bootable to automatically boot with those recovery/install files... If I just copy the recovery disk on my 2GB usb key, how to start the boot procedure? There's no .exe files on my recovery cds... Only three folders (MFG, RECOVERY, SWWORK) with compressed and coded files. What could I do?
Thanks a lot!!
Clean install xp tablet pc from recovery cd by using USB key
