Help me! X61 Factory Recovery delete whole HDD?

#1 Post by LongmanVN » Sat Feb 23, 2008 4:41 am

Dear everybody,

I have 3 partitions (C, D, E) on X61. Previously, I do the factory recovery using recovery partition and there is the option for only formating C drive and leave D and E intact.

I have just made the DVD recovery and there is no more Factory Recovery Option in Recovery Partition. Therefore I used the Recovery DVD to do the Factory Recovery. However, when I insert DVD No.2, it started copying files without asking me whether I want to format the whole HDD or only C drive.

Too afraid, I cancel the process but now the whole HDD is inaccessible.

I would like to ask whether the DVD Recovery formated all partitions in my HDD? Is there any way to recover my data on drive D and E?

Thank you so much!

You can try to undelete partitions with:
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/bootit ... ration.htm

Its free to try for 30 days. I have used it for years but mostly to resize and copy partitions.

It is not suppose to ask you for anything, that's exactly how Rescue and Recovery works from recovery disks and alas your partitions have been wiped out.
