T23 with 0175 error, bad CRC1....fixed by anyone???
Hi
My sons T23 went the "0175" path this morning (just like so many others..as I can understand reading this forum) It happend during a normal power up running on AC.
I have found all the "tools" needed..schematics, etc..so I am all fired up and ready....but if my eeprom is corrupted (I assume this by the CRC error)..well then I will need a .bin file in good shape. OR a program that can re-calculate the CRC in the .bin file I get from reading out the content of the ATMEL.
SO..anyone that will share a T23 .bin file that is OK..a few might be better just to figure out how to get the CRC in place...or does anyone knows how the CRC is calculated?
Best reg
Erik

Welcome to the forum!
Although I can't point you in the direction of reprogramming the chip, I can point out that T23 mobo prices are at their all time low, so even if you fail, the replacement should be quite inexpensive.
The best of luck!

Ah I remember that T20. Desoldering/resoldering that EEPROM was fun to say the least.gator wrote:some info here:

Aside from pulling a good EEPROM from another T23, purchasing that writing software gets you a CRC recalculation. It's not too expensive, $25 USD last I checked. Since I had a non posting T21 board I figured I'd swap the EEPROMs and see if I could fix it that way. If you have another T23 and feel adventerous, you could try an EEPROM swap. Be warned, you could very easily destroy both systems.
