T43 fan part

Hey everyone. I have a T43 2687-DDU laptop and am looking into replacing the fan. According to Lenovo's site, I need to buy part # 26r9074. However while searching, I've also noticed that part #26r7957 shows up a lot and appears to be compatible as well.

Will either of these fans work and if so, is one better than the other?

I believe they should be the same. Part numbers change due to different manufacturers or phases of the moon. You need to be sure that whatever fan you get is for ATi M24 graphics. The models numbers that start with a 1 (i.e. 1871-xxx) use Intel graphics and will not work for you.
