How to enable deep sleep in Vista?

#1 Post by arlab » Sun Feb 24, 2008 1:01 pm

I heard that the default sleep is not the least energy consuming one.

Anyone knows how to enable the other sleep?

I'm not talking about hybrid sleep.

So, do you mean Hibernate? It should be available just by pressing Fn+F12.

If not see:
Sometimes, after running disk cleanup in Windows Vista, the hibernate feature may be no longer available.

Here's how to re-enable the hibernate option:
1. Run the command prompt as administrator.

2. At the command prompt, type powercfg /hibernate on.

It may also be missing after an upgrade of fresh install:
3. You can also use the PowerCfg command-line tool to determine whether the computer supports the hibernation feature. At the command prompt, type powercfg /a.
