WTB:T42/43/60 or R5x with 15" SXGA+ IPS LCD
Trying to help out an old friend who loves FlexViews, but can't cope with UXGA resolution anymore....
what is important:
- A well-preserved LCD, doesn't have to be perfect. A small spec of dust, or a dead pixel will be tolerated. No scratches or major blemishes, though.
- Some IBM/Lenovo warranty remaining is strongly preferred, I don't care if it's a week as long as it can be extended.
what is not important:
- Pretty much everything else...this machine is meant to be a desktop replacement, so battery life is not important, neither is fingerprint, WWAN, etc...
The laptop can be missing parts, as long as it's not completely trashed physically...HDD, RAM, even LCD itself can be MIA as long as the price reflects that fact...
Feel free to PM with any questions, as well as with offers.

Thanks Brad!
Yes I've seen that one and have it on my watch list, however It's very difficult for me these days to buy anything on eBay, and I generally prefer to spend my money here...

To quote a short answer to this:schwaz80 wrote:Sorry... what is IPS?
Many ThinkPad users have found FlexView/IPS displays to be amongst the the best that are/were available from IBM/Lenovo. Today, FlexView/IPS displays are no longer available on new ThinkPad's, and that is part of the explanation why some users (incl. I!) are very attached to their in some respect perhaps "outdated" ThinkPad's... which have one of these very displays! Try search for "FlexView" in this forum, and see what user comments comes up...In the thread LCDs on T60/T60p - types, availability and other discussions, in his post of Tue Apr 10, 2007 9:45 pm, Kyocera wrote:IPS stands for In-Plane Switching, and is a type of LCD technology which results in superior quality displays with excellent color reproduction and wide viewing angles (both horizontal and vertical). Lenovo's brand name for its IPS displays is Flexview. More information on IPS can be found in Wikipedia. IPS screens are available only in the SXGA+ or the UXGA resolutions. Please note that IPS screens were never ever available in 14" models, in any previous/current T-series.
