Right speaker muted

#1 Post by Peaceable Frood » Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:40 pm

I came home and plugged my headphones into my machine to listen to some music, and there was no music coming out of the right channel, I thought maybe I broke my headphones or they busted on themselves. So i pulled them out and I heard no music coming out of the right speaker on the laptop either, I went to the sound properties set the balance all the way to the right, and no music at all. It's only coming out of the left, could this be broken hardware, or something is messed up in Windows, it was working fine yesterday. The system beep still plays through both speakers, and both speakers on my headphones, so maybe it is a software issue.

Happened in my z61t too. I just played a song in windows media player, cranked up speakers to maximum volume through the physical volume up button and the sound started to flow out of the speaker.

I think there is a cutoff level after which the speaker starts to work and you've got to hit that level every time it stops working. Not sure if this works for you, but give it a shot. I know this is all wierd though.
