Model 1951-BS7 T60 Thinkpad Wireless won't shut off?

When I do a Fn-F5 to bring up the window that allows me to turn ON and OFF my two wireless devices; Bluetooth & WiFi adapter, I cannot turn off my Wireless adapter. The Bluetooth goes OFF & ON, but the wireless will not respond.

It did work for a while. Now the only way to turn it off is go to the adapter in Network Connections and DISABLE it. Is this a known issue? Appreciate any hints. Thank you.
