I am having trouble with the proxy settings in Windows Vista.
Over the winter holidays, I was at a friend's house whos internet connection required a proxy server. Now, I am back home and I can't make the proxy settings stay off. I go to the Control Panel and choose Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings, and then choose Automatically Detect Settings, and I uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN." I also turn off the proxy server for Firefox. All this works fine, but whenever my computer is restarted, the proxy settings just come back and I need to disable them again.
It is inconvenient because after a restart, I need to disable the proxy again if I want to get on the web, update my antivirus, etc. How can I make the proxy server stay off? Is there another place where I need to disable the proxy server? Any help would be much appreciated.
