Multiple color profiles?

Does anyone have an idea of how to automatically use a different monitor profile for external displays vs. the LCD on a T40?

At present I have a profile for my external monitor that loads on startup but it is obviously not going to be the ideal profile for the LCD. Does that mean I will have to recalibrate every time I go on the road?
