Is it possible to install vista ultmate over a prior vista business installation on the thinkpad (t61p)?

If you have the installation disk, simply go to the Vista Welcome Center, click "show more details", and at the bottom under Windows activation click "change product key". Enter your ultimate key, and follow the prompts, and you should be all set.

Thank you for the reply. One problem, however, may arise. What if the new vista overwrites critical drivers for the t61p?

all vista installations are the same.   no overwriting will happen.   changing the product key will simply unlock and install vista ultimate features on top of your current installation.
