firefox crashes

#1 Post by rzuniga » Thu Feb 28, 2008 11:48 pm

I think this may be a vista issue.
Lenovo laptop (T60) running Vista Business.
If my wife uses firefox for her yahoo mail, after sending an email, on the "message sent" page, if she clicks on a tab like "check mail", firefox crashes and closes down.
This only seems to happen after sending an email.
I have disabled the thinkvantage password manager plugin, which is one bug mentioned and found in my google search. The other suggestion was about a different plugin (I think) for messenger, and I did that and still the same problem, so neither fix worked.
I also tried to reinstall yahoo messenger and firefox, but no luck there either.
Anyone heard of any problem like this before? It seems to have started after a recent windows and norton update. I have disabled norton and still have the same problem, so it doesn't appear to be norton.
Thanks,

Rick

Lenovo released a patch three days ago, make sure you've it installed:
lenovo wrote:This patch resolves an issue with Client Security Solution 8.1 and Mozilla Firefox under Windows XP and Windows Vista (32-bit) where the Mozilla Firefox browser unexpectedly closes when a site attempts to open a pop-up window.
Client Security Solution 8.1 patch for Mozilla Firefox.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Yes, already tried that patch, though my problem doesn't stem from a pop-up window. Still no luck.

Try to run Firefox in safe mode. Does it still crash? If it doesn't then the culprit may be another extension or interactions between extensions.
