desperate for HD upgrade for X40

#1 Post by kenw232 » Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:43 pm

I have an X40. whats the largest and fastest HD I can put in this? Its the 1.8" form factor. Its 40GB now and that doesn't cut it anymore.

Does anyone have any recommendations? is it possible to upgrade the HD? can anyone recommend a fast and large drive?

I see the Toshiba MK1011GAH is 100GB.
I just read Toshiba will ship 5400RPM 1.8" drives in April 2008.

Has anyone actually upgraded the HD in an X40?

Any comments or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

I believe the max you can go is 60gb. The X40/X41 does not use a standard 1.8" hdd.

Yup, currently the largest drive compatible is the 60gb. Unless something comes out in SSD thats the only option for the X4x
