RecordNow alternatives
I've been experiencing some weird problem with it (it prevents windows from shutting down) so I've decided to move on to something else.
I had some good experience with Nero 6 but I find the new version way too bloated. Is there any other choice? I need a software that can handle data disc burning, cd/dvd copying and image burning (save cd/dvd's to hard drive).
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Tony

Nero v7.2 for burning and Alcohol 120% v1.9.6 for image management (and virtual drive) is my choice that keeps me peaceful....
You can make custom instalation with Nero and chose what app to install (i skip most of them...)

Re: RecordNow alternatives
With any recent version of Nero you can just install the parts you need and leave the rest out.ulrich.von.lich wrote:I had some good experience with Nero 6 but I find the new version way too bloated.
Nero 8 has a lot of parts, but if you only install the basic burning set its foot print is fine.
Cheers,

ISORecorder will copy discs and create/burn ISO's. It has a super light footprint and is simple to use.
XP will make data cd's natively.

(also echo Bll's suggestion to do a custom install of Nero).
Anecdotally, we've been using Sonic RecordNow on nearly all of our Dell Latitudes at work. It works just fine and we don't have the problems you are experiencing.
