Eric, thanks I appreciate the link. I have a 1.6 Banias, and going to a 1.6 Dothan might not be too noticeable. I really had my sights set on a 1.8, but a 1.7 might be ok. The prices for these things have not come down in a couple of years, it's amazing.

The most proable reason might be that there are still PLENTY of laptops that use these processors ... The centrino platform kinda 'launched' the surge in laptop sales, Intel hit a home run with that one.
