Frequency of Sales Events?

i've noted that i could have bought a new r61e for $599 in dec, but the prices are back to normal now.

Does anyone know when Lenovo usually has sales events?

And does the sale that supposedly end on the third really end on the third? They've been pushing the date back repeatedly over the last few weeks. Unless this is the same sale that's been going since last calendar year.
