Well i did my first back light tonight...
I just changed the backlight on my A31P.
It turned out to be easer than i thought it would be.
Well i dident find it that bad with this IPS UXGA LCD.
From what i can find out with the serches on doing backlights , this UXGA IPS LCD are the easer ones to do.
Theres just a little(very little) light blead coming from the bottom.Around the trim ring(about 2" long). Can hardly see it.
Because of that i would rate my job a 8 or 9 (out of 10).
I'm happy with it and the job i did.
Overall i would do it again.

I heard the same about the Flexviews being easier. I did a nightmare CCFL replacement on a 14" Hitachi SXGA+ LCD. It clearly was one of the harder ones to do. I'd do one again, but not that one
Last 14" SXGA+ I had that needed a backlight, I sent out to James.

Congrats, Bill. Now I'll vouch for your insanity in any court any day of the year....
Glad it worked out well. I've done it once years ago on a T30, and would rather not do it again, ever.
Now you can make some extra bucks on that side of the border...

Great work. Replacing the backlight on a laptop is akin to curing one form of cancer in humans.

I suppose QXGA-IPS screens are similar to UXGA-IPS screens, so it should also be relatively easy (but still hard!) to replace their backlights? Someday I might have to do that to my R50p displays.
