T61p / vista ultimate 32 / chddsk

#1 Post by calabrache » Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:32 pm

:?: I've have since shortly a strange behavîour from the t61p. At the start i attempt to start the scandisk / chkdsk but says it has no exclusive acess to ntfs drive C: and exist then opens vista normaly. At the next reboot, same scenario. I've tried to lauch the scandsik from the tools, it does scan the disk, says not errors found, but at next log on, same scenarion, attempting to start chkdsk to no avail, since it claims it has not exclusive access to volume. I don't know how to stop that.

Chkdsk issue...

Same problem here... see my post in this forum. This appears to be a problem with Vista SP1 and Rescue and Recovery 4.2

Remove R&R or SP1 and everything works again... not really a solution :(

I believe, you've a different issue.

Here are the documents you should look at:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942448/en-us

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555484/en-us (for Windows XP but still could be useful)

A possible solution:

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt-20 ... olume.html

You should also keep the fact in mind that SP1 hasn't been released for all general public usage so perhaps Microsoft is still working on fixes for such issues.

In addition Microsoft solved this exact same issue for Windows XP in SP2: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811113/es (Article number 823439), so keep your fingers crossed for a fix in the final version of SP1.
