strange problem with new battery for T30

I just bought a new battery for my T30. My old one was dead.

the problem is I put it in and looked in battery Maximizer and this is what I get

and my battery icon on the thinkpad itself is flashing on and off

what should I do?

Take it out again, clean the contacts on the battery and inside the battery compartment.
Use a very fine screwdriver and 'scrape' the contacts.
Take it in and out a few times, then try it again.
You could have maybe a bad battery.

I tried to have it discharged completeley and afterwards I had it reload the whole night.
It didnt work. It turned off after 15 minutes.
Now I'm recharging and the batterylight isnt flashing anymore. So maybe thats a good sign.

Well i just got home from work.

The battery is still blinking ... and in maximizer I still have the same things as in the first picture.

Very strange. Does anyone know what to do?
Im really blocked here

edit: and now maximizer says this

and the battery light is orange and steady
