Hi
I have a T61 wIndows XP SP2 all the current updates to both Windows and Thinkpad drivers.
When I return from sleep, sometimes my sound works. Sometimes it is on mute. Sometimes it is not on mute and just does not work and I have to reboot.
Any advice? Thanks.
Eric

Sounds like a software issue to me.
Make sure you have audio drivers installed from lenovo and not Microsoft:
Audio Features for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad R61, R61i, T61, T61p, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet.
Read the installation instructions carefully.
If in case your problem doesn't get solved then try to request the following patch from Microsoft:
Sounds do not play after you resume Windows from hibernation on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2.

i had the same problem with my T41p
after i reinstalled windows i didn't install the "audio tools" - only the plain driver. that solved the problem for me. And i think i USED the driver from Microsoft Update! not the ibm/lenovo one....
