Google Checkout, safe to use?

#1 Post by Diehard » Thu Mar 06, 2008 2:15 am

Hi all,
I have recently won an auction on eBay. Seller doesn't send me any invoice insured by eBay, which I am asking. He sent me "Google Checkout" email.
Is it safe to use it?
If I use this service, I think eBay won't cover it because this transaction will be off eBay. Am I right?
I also need a credit card to use Google Checkout, which I don't have.

Thanks

I don't know about German eBay, but on the American one the use of Google Checkout is prohibited.

Be careful...although if you used the credit card through the checkout, you could still file a chargeback if something went wrong, since eBay protection is half worthless anyway.

Just my $0.02...

Thanks for your information!

May I ask you that.

Would you dare to buy a laptop from zero feedback seller? Everything he has described the laptop is consistent. He has provided the actual picture of the item.
Payment is by PayPal.

Only if my PayPal was credit-card funded, no other way.

Good luck.
