Remap Web keys on an X61 (tablet)

#1 Post by Bealers » Thu Mar 06, 2008 5:04 pm

Hi,

I really want to re-map the two fw/back keys above the cursor keys to do something useful.

I already wrote a post on the general hardware forum but I'm now wondering if this is something specific to the X61?

In short it seems that the scancode of both the fw & back keys are the same, namely 57344. On my Z60 the scancodes are different and using Key Tweak I was able to simply map the 'WWW Back|Forward' (#140/#141) to home/end. On this machine it does nothing.

To be clear: I am using KeyTweak on Vista running the app as administrator and mapping of other 'normal' keys works fine. On my 2yr old Z60m I was able to remap these keys, on my shiney new X61 tablet I am not.

Is this expected behavior?

p.s. I have also tried the Thinkvantage keyboard customiser tool but that's no use.

Any insight gratefully received.

I have a Z60M and apparently these numbers mean something:
