Any common faults with the X32?

#1 Post by obpsym » Fri Mar 07, 2008 4:34 am

Hi,

I'm putting my X32 in for some repairs and was wondering if this model had any known faults that I should mention when I put it in, I only have a few months of warranty left and would like to get as much preventative maintenance done before the warranty expires.

It's going in for three faults,

1. Wifi indicator light does not work although Wifi and Fn & F5 work fine.

2. Thinklight does not work, Fn & PgUp OSD works.

3. The right screen hinge is quite tight and I'm afraid either the main chassis or case will transfer the load where it is not supposed to be.

Thanks in advance.

They'll probably replace the LCD bezel circuitry to fix the ThinkLight/wireless indicator issue. As for preventive replacement, ghost out your hard drive and ask them to send in a new one - HDDs are mechanical devices subjected to wear and tear - and the less cycles you have on it, the better. Also, look at the metal heatsink grill on the right and see if it's warped. If it is, ask for a replacement. You might also want to get something that can help reinforce the chassis - an ultrabase battery (goes on the bottom) really helps in that regard.

Pegasus - X31 (2672-CXU)
Taurus - X24 (2662-MQU)
