T60 Bluetooth and Blackberry

#1 Post by At0mAng » Fri Mar 07, 2008 10:46 am

So my Treo 750 is no longer and I am stuck using this Blackberry 8700c. Since I installed it on the laptop I am getting a driver not found for a certain device every time I boot up. I searched all around the drive for a driver but can not find it. Anyone ever have this problem with a Blackberry and the T60?

The hardware IDs for the devices are:

BTHENUM\{426c6163-6b42-6572-7279-427970617373}_LOCALMFG&000f

BTHENUM\{426c6163-6b42-6572-7279-44736b746f70}_LOCALMFG&000f

Thanks!

a few questions...

- what OS are you using?
- is bluetooth properly installed on your T60?
- what version of blackberry device manager do you have?
- can your blackberry discover your T60?
- can your T60 discover your blackberry?
- can you sync your blackberry over a USB cable?

my blackberry curve 8320 successfully pairs and syncs with outlook 2003 over both bluetooth and USB on my T61p under vista ultimate x64 so there has to be a way to get your setup working.   i'll do my best to help you out.

I had the exact same problem with my BB and bluetooth, and finally Windows Update downloaded the driver. So now I have this process called BTTray.exe.
In any event, although I was able to configure the BB to sync with the T60 via BT, I don't use it that often, only if I am away from home and I absolutely need to sync something. Otherwise I just use the cable.

i agree with using a USB cable.   admittedly i've only used bluetooth twice to sync just to make sure it worked.   otherwise the cable is much faster to use and the blackberry will sync automatically once it's plugged in.

Yes BT is properly installed
4.3 or .3 which ever is the latest (cant check now)
Yes BB and T60 see each other, find each and connect.

I can sync with USB and BT. It's just that two drivers are needed. I believe the drivers are for PAN and BT DUN. When I uncheck some options in the BT properties of the BB it no longer shows unknown devices and doesn't request a driver.

I will try Windows Update. I had Vista search for a driver online but that did not work. From doing some more searching it looks like it is just a problem with the BB BT stack and Vista.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions!
