i'm also curious about 1 too. I don't use my DVDRW so much so i could probably park it for now to get the extra battery life sometimes.

So share PMs with me too guys :)

Did you end up finding any of the UltraBay batteries for your T60 laptop?

I have a T60 with a 6 cell and need some extra battery power. I never use my CDRW/DVDRW.

If you got them, how much longer time do they give you?

Thanks,
James

if it's the amazon one... those are for the T4x series and as said they don't fit in the T6x series.

Having had a 9-cell AND ultrabay battery in my T60, I would not recommend those bay batteries. They do give you some extra time, but they die quickly... much more quickly than the bay battery in my 600X did.

But, if long run time is worth something to you, get the 9-cell main battery and the bay batteries. You can definitely get them from Lenovo, and their accessories and batteries do go on sale from time to time.

Edit: Well it looks like you can't get them from Lenovo, and you can't get the 6-cell battery from them either. 40Y6789 or 40Y6790 are the part numbers for the bay battery, and it looks like you can get them for about $120 or less from web stores.

I was kind of interested in getting an ultrabay battery for my T60 as well, but the only real reason was because it seems that you can swap the batteries without having to power off the system (assuming you're away from your AC adapter.) I think the ultrabay battery was only a 3-cell or something? It should be less power than the standard 6-cell battery.

Still, are there any reputable places to buy non-generic, genuine IBM/Lenovo batteries? Lenovo's online store doesn't seem to stock them.
