What's this

#1 Post by linuxcomputers » Sat Mar 08, 2008 12:28 pm

I have been given a Thinkpad I cannot determine its model. It looks like a 600, the guy who gave it to me didn't know either. The display is knackered and though hard-drive would work in it the bay is empty because it had a new 120 Gb I'm told the chip is 800MHz
The DVD/CD which is on the far left corner can be swapped with a floppy .
The Type number is 2647-8 aus/n78-0gz 6c03/01.
I have incorporated a company called linuxcomputersolutions Ltd (Number 6376832). Any computers that go through my hands get Mandriva-Linux fitted. I own a A20m 500MHz, 320Mb, 40Gb and a 800MHz T21 that has 384Mb SDRAM Without a HD or a working screen

Googled IBM 2647

Result = T20, T21 or T23

If the type number is 2647-8AU, then it's a T21:

The type number T21 was printed by the left hinge exactly where I'd been looking all day exactly where the model number of all the other Thinkpads I've got or seen is :oops:
