T61 lid is bowed out

#1 Post by JonathanGennick » Sat Mar 08, 2008 3:37 pm

Does anyone else notice that the lid on their T61 bows out in the middle? I just rec'd one last week, that my company bought for me. If I close the lid and look at the machine from behind, its' easy to see that the crack between lid and case gets larger in the middle. Lay a straight edge across the lid the long way, and the warp in the lid is obvious.

I'm surprised at what appears to be such an obvious fit-and-finish error. Is the lid by chance designed that way? Is the warping on purpose?

Cool. I guess. I wondered whether that might have been the thinking.

Panasonic does something similar with their Business Toughbooks.
