I still have a working 100MB USB Zip drive and 7 disks. There are also the 2 that came with software on them so a total of 9. I also still use my NEC MobilePro 780 Handheld PC. That is a 168MHZ MIPS based "PDA" that runs CE 2.11.

I have fairly new IT technology, but I still use:

Deskmenu from Windows 95 on my XP machine because I like it.
My Parker fountain pen from 1966 when I got it for University.
My Knirps umbrella from 1966 when I got it for University.
My leather wallet from 1966 when I got it for University.
My two bench 'scopes (7704A and 7104) that hail from 1975 (new to me).
Several old signal generators and measuring devices from the 1960's (somewhat new to me).
An analogue Multimeter that I bought prior to 1965 (still works).
My HP810C printer from 1998.
Front page express from Windows 98.
Some train cars (but no locomotives) from the early 1960's
Many hand tools (Craftsman - guaranteed forever) from the early 1970's.
My trusty 1 HP Air Compressor from 1978.

True quality from back whenever seems to last forever.

How 'bout two Revox A77 reel-to-reel tape decks? And one dial phone.

One of the oldest pieces is a 386sx 40mhz circa November 1993 that has been on 24 hours a day since. One of our main process machines. I am waiting for it to blow up to replace it as I have several replacements in the wings.

A 1994 Mitsubishi 40" tube TV. Our main TV in constant use that has given us great service.

Two 1992 Mitsubishi cars. I know this isn't technology but I thought I would mention them. One with 216,000 miles and the other with 201,000 miles.

:D I prefer Pelikan! ;)

I also love Craftsman tools but I use some tools by Dynamite RC since they make some really nice hex drivers.

Software doesn't really count but hey! I still use this XP thing. I don't like Vista much.

Technics SLBD-2 turntable. Works perfectly. New belt and Stanton...circa 1981/82.

Yamaha 3-way floor-standing monitors (speakers), model number has peeled off, with 12" bass...early 80's, heavy as sin...loud and real...

Revox A77 in the restoration phase...studio 19/38 master version...

Royal brand typewriter from the 1940's...needs new tape

A variety of table and floor lamps from 1930's and 1940's...

This is just off the top of my head...probably more when I remember...

For regular use (at least).....

Ditto on:
  • Revox A77
Model electric trains (oldest loco is from circa 1937)
Electronic test equipment (including a VOM I bought in 1965)
Plus:
  • Bass guitars and amplifiers from the 1950s/60s

A great analog shortwave radio from the '70s:

Sony ICF-5900W

It's been sitting on my desk at work for the last 20+ years tuned to the FM band. It's been on every weekday for at least four or five hours. Don't listen to shortwave much any more but it was one of the better radios in its day.

I can't believe this...I think the oldest piece of technology I have and use is my T23. I need to un-get with times.

The oldest laptop that I currently have is a Dell Inspiron 5000e that I bought on this forum. It has 850MHz PIII, 320MB PC100 RAM, 32GB 5400rpm hard drive and, what I really like, a 15.0" 1600x1200 screen. For simple stuff, it's reasonably fast, and I use it almost everyday in my office. The purchase included accessories that I don't need so I sold them and brought the final cost down to $33! (I still have a travel bezel and an extra battery, and selling them would further reduce the cost!) I spent so little money on it that I don't care if it gets stolen, so I just leave it on my desk all the time, whereas I keep my T42 and R50p in a locked drawer when they aren't in use.

My oldest desktop is a non-MMX Pentium I Packard Bell that's probably about 13 years old. It's running Windows 95 and I use it for playing old DOS games.

And yes, I still use 1.44MB floppy discs every now and then, and 100MB and 250MB Zip discs once or twice a year.

I had a Packard Bell desktop too running Windows 3.11! That thing was so great at the time. It was a whopping 66MHZ! (Same as one of my old Clies actually...) It had a 250MB hard drive and a caddy CD ROM drive.

I have a ThinkPad 570 but the hinges are broken so the oldest "laptop" I use would be the NEC MobilePro 780 since its more less a laptop in size then a PDA. Oldest laptop is a T20 here that I use.

I have a handheld PC from the same era: an HP Jornada 720. I have two other, newer and faster PDAs (a Dell Axim x51v and my Palm Centro smartphone), but it's much harder to take notes on those. The Jornada has a keyboard that enables me to take notes much faster, albeit with lots of typos because of how small the keys are (75% of full size).

You may have the better hardware but I have the better keyboard! Mine is a 92% size keyboard so the unit is a lot bigger. I use to use it in school for notes. I also use it for some minor email and chatting since I have a WiFi card for it. :( Its so hard to find some good programs that work on a MIPS processor.

The olodest thing i used yesterday was a old VCR (not the 4 head Hi-Fi eather) Just 2 head Mono sound.Early 80's i would think.
Than i watched the original Star Wars trilogy movies on VHS.Not the newer remastered ones. The ones like it was made back in 1977 .
It was cool to watch the original movies on a new LCD 1080P projector.

a Dynaco PAS-3 pre-amp from 1966
a pair of Crown D-150 power amps from 1974
An HP-41C calculator from 1979

I have a LOT of old technology around here - too much to list - but the above are used quite often.

I do have a complete, working Kaypro 2 system with daisy wheel printer and all program floppies (circa 1984) but I haven't taken it out of the boxes in quite a while.

I have a pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers from 1978 that I wouldn't part with. We also like to play some games on our Commodore 128 a few times a year. Good old 5 1/4" floppies that take minutes to load.
