Supposed battery overcharge - how worried should I be?

#1 Post by Rogue505 » Tue Mar 11, 2008 3:06 pm

I've a R61i, about a month old. This has happened to me for the first time. After almost completely depleting the battery (it had about 3% of charge left) I plugged the laptop to AC power.
When I returned two hours later I found out that it was still charging, even though the battery was supposedly full.

If RightMark is correct it has more charge than when it was new (= 101.8%).

So should I semi-panick or is this some sort of a software bug?

there's no overcharge... batteries when they are new come with more capacity than their actual designed capacity. The first few times you chrage it'll be more than what it's supposed to be.

Shotta35 is correct, just curious though, does powermgmt say it's over %100?
