question about monitor definitions under display properties

In Display Properties, under Advanced, Monitor.

There is a Monitor type.

Underneath that, I have so many monitors listed:

Wide viewing angle & High density FlexView Display
Generic Television
Default Monitor
IBM ThinkPad IPS LCD Panel

I do need all four installed? What's the IPS?

And under Color Management tab, I have a IBMTPFLX. Is that right?

And what difference do having these installed make anyway?

And oh, I have a T42 with the 15" Flexview
