Linux support

#1 Post by cmsj » Thu Mar 13, 2008 7:55 am

Hey folks.

I bought an X300 three days ago and the very first thing I did when switching it on was to put in a CD with the latest pre-Beta release of Ubuntu (that is, I installed Hardy Alpha 6, which will become 8.04 next month). (I have no interest in running Windows, so that is long gone).

There are a few snags (the most obvious being audio and suspend not working), but it's usable to work on.

Basically I just wanted to kick off a thread about running Linux on these wonderful beasts, to discuss, get feedback and see if anyone is trying other distros and getting better results.

Cheerio!

Welcome to the forum!

I'm a Fedora fan, but I got Ubuntu 6.10 LTS running on my 750P a little while back, and I try the live images on my T60 and 600X.

Be sure to check out thinkwiki.org and add your knowledge there. It has a ton of useful information.
