Will the 90watt chargers for my T61p work with the X300?

yes, the 90W is compatible with a smaller system but a 65W is not recommended for a bigger system.

For what it's worth, my X300 w/3GB RAM, DVD/RW came with a 65W power supply.

as it should. machines with integrated graphics come with 65W and ones with discreet graphics come with 90W. all current X-series have integrated graphics and therefore all include 65W adapters.

is the "portable" slim 90W AC/DC lighter than the "in the box" 65W adapter that comes with X systems.

no, the 90W slim ac/dc adapter is both larger and heavier due to having an internal d/c inverter and its ability to charge multiple devices simultaneously. if you're trying to pack light and don't need the extra functionality then the 65W is still the smallest option by far.

even though it is a bit heavier, i won't leave the house/office without the slim ac/dc as it allows me to carry one a/c adapter for all of my devices including thinkpad(s), blackberry, and ipod.

tonight i'll try to remember to take photos of the 65W, 90W, and 90W slim ac/dc adapters next to each other to show the difference.

Glad the 90watt would work (I have 4 of them) but after lots of thinking, I decided to buy the 64gb SATA Samsung drive and stick it in my T61p. I will watch with intrests how everyone likes the X300 and am looking forward to MORE SSD drives in the larger laptops and tablets.

I would hate to be depending on a living making laptop hard drives as I truely believe that SSD drives in the 128gb and larger sizes will sweep the industry later this year as prices drop and they are going to drop!

Instead of paying $120 for the Lenovo 90 watt adapter you could simply buy a pocket inverter. I purchased a couple at Costco several years ago for about $20 each and they have worked well when traveling. Not only can I charge my laptop but also my phone and other accessories. The Lenovo 90 watt adapter is about 7 ounces heavier than the 65 watt adapter. My pocket inverter only weighs approximately 4 ounces.
