MC5720 Verizon WWAN card not detected?

#1 Post by EricRC » Sat Mar 15, 2008 2:47 am

Hi,I've got a problem with my MC5720 Verizon WWAN card in my T60p. It seems the card cannot be detected by the system, when I'm trying to install the driver for it, it notifies "Make sure the device is present or turned on"
Would anyone here please tell me why? Was my WWAN card disabled and how can it be enabled again? Or was this WWAN card damaged? :?

Is the WWAN light lit on the LED display?

There could be three lights lit for wireless, WIFI, Bluetooth and WWAN.

If there is no LED lit for WWAN try pressing Fn and while holding it down press F5 once.

This should bring up a window where you can turn your wireless radios on and off.

If the WWAN radio is off click to turn on and the LED should illuminate. Once lit your ThinkPad should be able to detect the card.

I have noticed from time to time the radios turn off and need to be turned back on.

Hi,Brad, the LED doesn't light up

I've pressed the Fn+F5 keys, there're only two options, the WLAN and the Bluetooth, but no WWAN option :?

Reseat the Mini PCI Express WAN Card:

Mini PCI removal movie - ThinkPad T60/p.

Also run PC-Doctor's diagnostic test on it.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,

The problem is solved now. It was disabled from the BIOS!! All I have to do is enabling it from BIOS network setting again!! How careless I am
