Recovering factory settings failed : pb with MGR.DAT
Recovering factory settings failed : pb with MGR.DAT
Hi,
When I hit the "Access IBM" key during the reboot I can't access the IBM Menu. It says :
Starting DOS ...
Failed to open MGR.DAT
Rebooting ...
and then it starts in the normal windows XP way.
Anybody has an idea to fix it ? I would like to recover the factory settings, any other way to do it ?
(The predesktop area seems to be still there).
Thx for your help.

Give the following solution a try:
How to reenable the F11 function (Product Recovery Program). (It works, I've personally tried it)
Or if you've a floppy drive then install the following instead:
Rescue and Recovery - Recovery repair diskette.
You may note that the above solutions will only work if the hidden partition is intact and healthy.

"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."

Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
