Do X61 owners need to apply the Core 2 Duo Hotfix from MS?

I searched the forums here and couldn't find any info on it. Since I"m using Pro-Tools 7.4 and they recommend installing this update for more efficient use of the Core 2 Duo, I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has installed it on their system

Yes...you need it. Fixes slow-down problems and freezing, browsing speed, and AVG 8.0 problems.

Thanks for the reply. Did you just download it and install it? I read the page and it mentioned some registry fixes that you'd have to do manually. Did you do them?

Nope...just did the download to apply the fix.

Good point on the Reg Edit stuff. I got flagged that I needed the fix for my P4 desktop running Windows Vista Business. Go figure.

If your ThinkPad is not showing these problems...perhaps you might say "why bother". Just my two cents. AVG 8.0 was what flagged me.
