T61 - No boot for a few hours after BSOD (Pic)
T61 - No boot for a few hours after BSOD (Pic)
I have a strange predicament. My computer has been BSOD like crazy recently, for all different reasons. I did install Norton 360 2.0 recently, but I also have it on other computers with no problems.
So, after the BSOD, my computer is literally dead. The battery and power lights are on, but when I click power on, nothing happens.
So, if I let the computer sit for a few hours, then I can boot it. ????
Sometimes it works for a few hours and then BSOD and again, I have to wait a few hours.
I talked to lenovo, removed the battery and power supply and hit the power button 10 times to reset it, etc.
This is really frustrating. I guess I can only just send it back in to Lenovo, but has anyone had any similar problems?
Also, recently when it did boot after a few hours from a BSOD crash, the video was wacky.
Strange... please help.

I'm just guessing, but could be that the video card is cooling system is not working as it should, and when the temperature goes over a certain point for a certain time, bye bye.
Could be a fan not working properly, or the heatsink not being correctly touching the gpu (so maybe needing some artic silver)..
If it's this, after a certain time it could create damages.

Sounds reasonable. I'm not a techie so I'm not about to take apart the system and install some thermal paste, etc. I guess I'll just send it in to Lenovo.
Here are some of the screen shots I do get after I get it to boot every few hours. I don't know if you can tell, but there are weird horizontal lines all over the screen.

MOD EDIT: Please follow forum rules regarding displaying pictures next time. Thank you!

this is wierd.
bsod is usually caused by driver corruption
and system not being able to turn on is usually overheat.
i have seen memory modules pass memtest but is bad.
try to take out a stick of ram and see if this happens or not.
