Seems like most all of the Thinkpads I've used in the past allowed you to do things like adjust the screen brightness and audio volume either in or outside of Windows, via the keyboard Fn functions. (just no on-screen display without the drivers loaded)
But this new T61 I'm setting up for someone (8897-02U) doesn't seem to work for audio up/down or screen brightness up/down, until Windows loads. The Thinklight does turn on/off and I can mute/unmute the audio, just not the above functions. (particularly annoying when I'm doing something like drive cloning via a non-Windows bootable CD)
Is this intentional or is there something I'm not doing? I didn't see any applicable BIOS switches for this sort of thing..
TIA
Fn functions outside Windows?
Fn functions outside Windows?
